Snapshots for Final Project in Large Format

Alright here are some of the snapshots I got yesterday. Here is a written explanation of the photographs:

PERSONAL VULNERABILITY
  • frustration
  • confusion
  • obstacles:
  • in the form of: hills, walls, fences
  • Pictures need to show a struggle + mood

How do you feel about walking a log?

Second angle option (for log shot).

This doesn't freak you out does it? I was envisioning you pirched inside...

Another option...but with you walking or sitting up top (me shooting below).

I'm really attached to this shot. Here begins the parking deck collection. I can't use all of them unfortunately, but I like a lot of them. This one reminds me of being caged in by my insecurities or vulnerabilities.

The light is just so beautiful in this one. Maybe if you stood in front of the sign it wouldn't be as noticeable? haha

I think this one would be a great one to throw into the bunch. I envision you walking down those stairs on the right...I would be up on level E of the North deck. It's like you're in a maze or just squished between these two bldgs. = compressed by overwhelming (negative) thoughts.

We Have to get this one! Although I'm not sure it plays on my idea as well as some of the others :(

This one is a must as well. It's so visually expressive.

How to Be the Best Friend Ever

My best friend mailed a letter to me...and I finally got it!! When we exchange "letters" it is no rinky-dink affair. Our letters are the ironmen, the alpha males, the bouncers of letters. Quite simply, they are the coolest collections of affection.

The Directions...
So many small touches...

...make this letter and my world go round.

What's Not to Like? I Love Halloween.

I love Halloween festivities...candy, decorating, costumes, tricks...treats. Here in this post I have all of my favorite things..

Starting with AMY STEIN photographs:

This selection of Amy Stein's work is titled "Halloween in Harlem".

On to the next best thing about Halloween!...

My dad let my mom and I borrow his drill and we did this to our pumkins a few years back. They were like swiss cheese pumkins by the time we were through. It was great.

A mathematician and an artist...whoa.

Pure pumkin genius.

For Melissalee.

He must be detail oriented.

An interesting marriage proposal.

A sculptor who works his magic on alternative materials...so cool. I would have a hard time dedicating so much time to something that would disintegrate in mere weeks.

Aw...a cute little........pumpkin squid?

All Hallows Eve Luminaries...and Other Favorable 31st Ideas:

Homemade tin can luminaries. Need I say more?

This seems pretty simple right? haha I love these little fellas.

Tim Burton fashion sample:

Chiquita Banana...love it.

Fabulous Interior Halloween Decorating...

In high school I would go to a friend's house and they ALWAYS had their orange lights hanging around for the month of October and it was just one of those small things I greatly appreciated. It's a glow that white lights can't seem to offer.

As mentioned in a previous posting, I have a soft spot (no pun intended!) for felted things. So here is my contribution to that part of my life.
